A Guide to the Safe Handling of Diatomaceous Earth Products
This guide was developed to provide distributors and users of diatomaceous earth products information on the safe handling of these important products in the North American workplace. It is the collaborative effort of the members of the IDPA as part of their continued commitment to the protection of all workers from exposure to respirable crystalline silica in the workplace.

Occupational Health Program for Exposure to Crystalline Silica in the Industrial Sand Industry, National Industrial Sand Association (NISA).
This manual provides guidelines by which NISA member companies can monitor occupational exposures and associated respiratory health effects of crystalline silica exposure. The program consists of the following basic components: job placement health evaluations for respiratory status; periodic respiratory health evaluations; workplace dust exposure monitoring; and integration of exposure and medical findings.
